At a time when information on non-MBA master’s programs was limited, thanks to Mr. Round’s swift and precise support, I was able to gain admission to my first-choice program: Princeton University’s Master in Finance (Data Science track). Without Mr. Round’s support—his ability to understand the subtle nuances I wanted to express as a Japanese applicant, despite being a native English speaker, and to offer perfectly calibrated advice—I would not have been able to overcome the extremely competitive admissions rate of just 3%.
In economics- and engineering-related programs, class sizes are often very small—sometimes only a handful to a few dozen students—and acceptance rates in the single digits are not uncommon. Through discussions with Mr. Round, I received a great deal of valuable advice on how to effectively connect my past experiences with what I hoped to study at the university and communicate that clearly in both application materials and interviews. I believe this guidance was indispensable to my successful admission.
