Because several senior colleagues from my company who had studied abroad in the past had used Round One, I decided to engage their services as well. In the end, this decision proved to be the right one—I believe that without Round One’s support, I would not have been admitted.
I worked primarily with Ms. Round, and thanks to her, I was able to complete the MBA application process—an entirely new experience for me—without undue stress. Even when my drafts were written in clumsy English with unclear arguments, Ms. Round always engaged with them earnestly and supportively. As a result, those drafts were ultimately transformed into polished and compelling pieces of writing. Knowing that she consistently did everything she could to reflect my thoughts and intentions as fully as possible in my applications was incredibly reassuring.
I also received extensive support from Mr. Round, including overall schedule management for the application process, consideration of my target school portfolio, and advice on how to communicate with admissions offices via email. No matter how small the request, his support was always prompt and thorough, which was immensely helpful. I believe one of Round One’s defining strengths is that they provide guidance not only on major components such as essays and interviews, but also on fine details—down to minor points in the application forms and how to communicate with admissions offices.
Above all, I was repeatedly saved by the personal character of both of them during what was a long and demanding application journey. At times they helped boost my motivation; at other times they offered candid and constructive criticism. Conversations with the two of them were a constant source of encouragement throughout the long process.
To those of you who will be applying in the future, I hope you will always think about “how to make your essays and applications truly compelling,” and that you will honestly express your own thoughts and feelings without giving up until the very end. The two counselors at Round One will always receive those efforts sincerely and support you wholeheartedly. There is no doubt that Round One will be the best possible partner for you.
