Referral from a senior colleague

I began using Round One through a referral from a senior colleague at my company, and I am satisfied with both the services provided and the results of my applications.

Two reasons I chose Round One

The two reasons I chose Round One were: (1) their track record, and (2) their personal character.

Regarding the first point, because essay counseling is an intangible service, I believe that past results are essentially the only reliable way to judge a counselor’s capability. In that respect, Round One gave me confidence, as they produce admits to nearly all top schools every year.

As for the second point, I had heard stories of applicants switching counselors due to poor compatibility, which made me believe that personal fit with a counselor is extremely important. On that front as well, I felt very reassured after meeting Mr. Round in Tokyo for the first time and experiencing his calm, sincere, and trustworthy character firsthand. In addition, the consistently strong reputation he had among senior colleagues at my company and instructors at the English conversation school I attended also played a decisive role in my choice.

Attentive and detailed care

I was also very satisfied with the actual services provided. Beyond the high quality of the essay counseling itself, the level of attentive, detailed care was exceptional. During the application process, even sending a single email to a target school can become a source of anxiety—wondering whether the content is appropriate or contains any mistakes. At such times, Mr. Round would even review and edit the emails I planned to send. Amid the intense pressure of application preparation, this support helped ease my anxiety and provided valuable emotional reassurance as well.

Not admitted to my first-choice school

To be completely honest, I was not admitted to my first-choice school, Stanford, and ultimately decided to attend UCLA, which had been part of my second-choice group. Even so, I am satisfied with Round One’s services. That is because I have a strong sense that I did everything I possibly could over the course of the past year and a half, and I believe that Round One’s support brought out my performance to the fullest extent possible.

What makes Round One stand out

If anyone reading this comment is uncertain about which counselor to choose, I strongly recommend meeting with Round One at least once. By doing so—and then comparing them with other counselors—you will be able to clearly see what makes Round One stand out.
