Tough love and kindness

There is no doubt that I was able to successfully get through the MBA application process thanks to Round One. Over the course of a full year, they supported my application journey—sometimes with tough love, and sometimes with kindness.

Although the process itself was demanding, looking back now I can honestly say that it was “enjoyable,” and that is entirely thanks to the guidance of Mr. Round and Emma. Mr. Round handled my overall strategy and interviews, while Emma supported my essays and interviews. Both of them are individuals I deeply respect not only as counselors, but also as people.

Highly personalized support made possible by a limited client intake

Because Round One limits the number of clients they accept, they are able to provide high-quality, attentive, and highly personalized support to each individual. In addition to assisting with the preparation of application materials such as résumés, essays, and application forms, they also responded quickly and carefully to more detailed requests—such as advising on whether to attend applicant events, drafting thank-you emails after campus visits and interviews, and introducing current students.

Moreover, because they provide end-to-end support across every stage of the application process—including school selection, recommendation letters, essays, and interviews—there was no need to work with multiple counselors. I was able to move forward hand in hand with Round One, who truly understood me as an individual.

Scheduling

By securing a fixed weekly time slot, they also served as an excellent pace-maker. I applied to ten schools, and by simply completing the weekly assignments given by the two counselors, I was able to complete all applications with time to spare. Of course, they were also flexible with schedule adjustments, which made it possible for busy working professionals to proceed with confidence.

Deep understanding of Japanese applicants

Having counseled a large number of applicants over the years, they possess an exceptionally deep understanding of Japanese candidates. In addition to pointing out English mistakes that are common among Japanese applicants, they also understand Japanese culture and ways of thinking. As a result, even though communication is conducted in English, they are able to fully grasp what applicants are truly trying to convey. This allowed me to express what I genuinely wanted to communicate in both essays and interviews using appropriate and effective English.

For those who are still unsure, I believe you can move forward with confidence by choosing Round One.
