With the support of Round One, I applied to four top business schools in Europe and the United States, and I was fortunate to receive offers of admission from all of them. Given my limited overseas experience (travel only) and the fact that I did not use English in my work, I truly believe that achieving these results would not have been possible without Round One’s support. Below, I would like to share what I see as the key strengths of Round One.
Mr. Round and Ms. Round have a deep understanding of the Japanese mentality and working environment, and they provide essay and interview counseling that aligns Japanese applicants’ inherent strengths with the expectations of Western business schools.
Some applicants may feel uneasy about counseling conducted in English, but there is no need to worry. I myself was what one might call a “purely domestic” applicant, without extensive overseas study or work experience and without using English at work. Even so, Mr. Round and Ms. Round conducted their counseling with great care, and I never felt any difficulty in communication. Considering that English interviews are unavoidable in business school admissions, Round One’s counseling can even serve as a valuable opportunity to improve one’s English skills as part of interview preparation.
In the business school admissions process, while test scores are of course important, essays and interviews are the most critical components.
Round One’s essay counseling provides accurate support and advice at every stage, from brainstorming ideas to completing the final polished version of the essay.
The interview training is also highly practical, as it closely simulates the actual interview setting. I had concerns about my English ability, particularly my speaking skills, but through thorough training at Round One, I was able to approach interviews with confidence.
The business school application process is extremely stressful, and I believe the counselor’s personal character is a crucial factor.
As many Round One applicants would agree, Mr. Round and Ms. Round are individuals of great integrity who can be trusted on a personal level. Being able to consult with them on a wide range of issues throughout the application process was an essential element in successfully seeing the process through.
